Every year, students with special needs from across the Valley age out of the public school system at the age of 22 with no transitional program or way of continuing their education. Many parents, unequipped and lacking resources geared toward special needs education, are left scrambling to find childcare, community resources, or employment for their young adults.
M.I. Academy is a non-profit entity that provides Meaningful Instruction to these vulnerable young adults with special needs. At M.I. Academy, young adults with intellectual or physical disabilities can have access to a Christ-centered continuing education and life skills program that equips them to lead productive and fruitful lives.
As you can imagine, there are many needs for a newly formed start-up. We are dreaming big and hoping to raise $10,000 to offer our students continuing education, vocational training, life skills development, arts and crafts, cooking classes, excursions, community involvement, and job site training.
Here’s how your tax-deductible donation can help:
$375 will sponsor a student with special needs for a month
$1,688 will sponsor a student with special needs for a semester
$3,375 will sponsor a student with special needs for a year. In addition, you are formally invited to be a part of our First Annual Fundraiser: Growing the Future with M.I. Academy on September 24, 2022, 6-8:30 pm,at the historic Harlingen Post Office, 221 E. Van Buren.

Title Sponsors ($1,000 Donation) - Your logo will be listed on the M.I. Academy fundraising page, your logo will be displayed at the event, AND you will have a table for 8 at the fundraiser.
Gold Sponsors ($500 Donation) -Your logo will be listed on the M.I. Academy fundraising page and your logo will be displayed at the event.
Appetizers for 100 - You will have your own table to serve and an opportunity to advertise your company.
Silent Auction Items - Donate or collect auctionable items for the event’s Silent Auction.
